We had our Country and Western fundraiser on Saturday which proved to be highly successful!  We had a live singer, karaoke, an auction, lucky draws, best dressed awards and more!  The weather held out until about 21:30 when it began to pour, luckily the music, drinks and hay bales kept us warm and cosy.  Thank you to all the people who were involved, it was awesome!

Chanel left to go back to her studies on Saturday morning, but we’ll see her again in December.  Astro the jaguar went to his new home last week.

Scooby Doo and Sam, the caracal cubs, are drinking much better than before. Angie, the little lion has an upset tummy, poor lil thing.

Fiela, the queen of cheetahs and Riana’s baby, is going to Buffalo Ranch for a while as we hope that she will fall pregnant.  She will be amongst gorgeous males and we are holding thumbs that she is at least slightly interested in them.  Nature must take its course.

It’s Miekie’s birthday tomorrow and we got her a bearded dragon as a gift.  His name is Acinonyx (Acid as a nickname).  The scientific name for ‘cheetah’ is Acinonyx Jubatus.  We know that he’ll grow up to be affectionate and very loved.

We are working on launching our very own 2010 calendar featuring the volunteers and the resident animals… it’s going to be the most coveted calendar of all.  Any orders? We are looking for people to sponsor a month for the calendar so spread the word!
