General chit-chat!

Our precious Angie, the 7 month lion cub, has been down in the dumps and not at all well over the last week or so.  Initially we treated her for an ear infection but when she got worse, we realised there was something we were missing. She was taken to the vet today for  x-rays – we were told that it could be anything from extra bone formation to a mass on her spine.  After a sleepless night for most of us and a Monday morning filled with worry…the x-rays were clear!  It seems that she has intense muscle spasms!  Living with 2 male lions is obviously stressful too!

Thatu, November (cheetah cubs) and Lilo (caracal) got their first rib to chew on today, it came from an impala and oh what fun they had!  November, the smallest one, was the first to chew furiously!  Lilo was second to dive in, so to speak,  and Thatu needed much encouragement!

We have welcomed another gorgeous animal to Cheetah Experience – her name is Felicity and she is a 2 year old meerkat.  Cute and cheeky describe her well, but then so too does ‘flirt’ and, she is a ‘teaser’ of note!  Jubatus, a lion who is nine months old tomorrow, was sniffing around her enclosure while she was running up and down and spitting at the curious lion, Jubi sniffed too long and Felicity bit the tip of his nose!  Felicity was trying to say “Pick on someone your own size, buster!”.
